Job Title: Underwriter
Location: Winston Salem
Pay Range: $24
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate and process credit applications in accordance with Sheffield and Truist policies.
Underwrite applications using fraud detection protocols, override rules, and OEM-specific promotions.
Ensure accurate entry of personal and dealer information into internal systems.
Make credit decisions within SLA timelines or request additional documentation as needed.
Respond to dealer and customer inquiries regarding underwriting, promotions, policies, and procedures.
Distribute program materials to dealers to support relationship development.
Execute dealer engagement initiatives via tele-consulting, meetings, and open houses.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financed products and MSRP values.
Support cross-functional initiatives while adhering to separation of duties principles.
Assist in fraud management and BSA/AML risk mitigation by following approved policies.
Document underwriting decisions with appropriate mitigating factors per scorecard guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Flexible work schedule availability
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Customer service experience
Strong decision-making and organizational skills
Experience in retail finance, particularly in the indirect lending space
Advanced computer proficiency (MS Office, Windows 10, etc.)
Proven problem-solving abilities
