What You’ll Do Prepare
federal and multistate individual, S corporation, partnership, and trust returns in Lacerte (primarily 1040, 1120S, 1065).
Organize & input
source documents, reconcile balances, and post adjusting journal entries in QuickBooks Online.
Communicate
with clients and teammates through Liscio questing missing items, answering basic questions, and keeping engagements on track.
Review
workpapers for completeness and flag complex issues for senior staff or partners.
Manage deadlines : juggle 15 to 25 returns at any one time and deliver completed files for tax manager review on schedule.
Support
extension, estimate, and e‑filing processes as needed through April 15 (and 10/15 if mutually agreed).
What You Bring Must Have - Preferred: 2+ consecutive seasons of hands‑on 1040 prep experience with 1120S, 1065, and fiduciary returns. Working knowledge of Lacerte or comparable professional software. Familiarity with California PTET and multistate compliance. Strong Excel / QBO skills; comfortable with cloud portals. Prior use of Liscio or similar client portal tools. Ability to work 25 hrs/week for extension season of 2025 and Feb‑Apr 2026, including some evenings/Saturdays.
EA or CPA credential in good standing
Compensation & Schedule Hourly range:
$32 – $48 (DOE, credentialed preparers at upper band)
Employment type:
Seasonal W2 or 1099 (your choice)
Hours:
Flexible; core collaboration window 9 a.m.–3 p.m. PT. Hybrid mix of in‑office days (Thousand Oaks) and remote work available.
Paid training on Privity workflows and Liscio portal.
Supportive, collegial team that values work‑life balance even in busy season.
Potential for return engagements or permanent placement if there's a mutual fit.
