Summary The Dining Supervisor provides hands‑on leadership in the dining room, ensuring a superior level of hospitality, service, and cleanliness at all times. This role is responsible for coordinating dining operations, supporting and leading the serving team, and creating a positive dining experience for residents, guests, and team members.

Dining Supervisor Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Oversee daily dining room operations, including appearance, staffing, service, and overall customer experience.

Lead, train, and mentor serving team members while upholding company standards and community values.

Ensure dining room is fully staffed, organized, clean, and stocked at all times.

Monitor food quality, appearance, and presentation to meet or exceed company standards.

Support efficient table service: setting tables, taking orders, serving meals, and answering menu questions.

Clear tables and assist with dishwashing as needed.

Maintain knowledge of resident diets and ensure meals are served per policy and procedure.

Manage labor budgets and schedules in line with operational guidelines.

Promote a culture of hospitality by practicing excellent customer service with residents, guests, and team members.

Observe Residents’ Rights policies and all community procedures.

Perform incidental housekeeping or maintenance tasks when needed to ensure a safe, pleasant environment.

Other related duties as assigned.

Dining Supervisor Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of dining/restaurant service experience, preferably in senior living or hospitality. Leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.

Skills:

Strong leadership and team development abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced dining environment.

Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division with fractions/decimals).

Familiarity with food service standards, etiquette, and customer service.

Physical Requirements: Must be mobile, able to stand for extended periods, and capable of lifting up to 25 lbs.
