Job Summary The Senior Benefits Analyst plays a key role in administering health and welfare, retirement, and absence benefits programs. Serving as an informal leader within the benefits team, this position provides training and mentorship to team members, leads large‑scale and complex projects, and manages workload coordination and assignments. The Senior Benefits Analyst collaborates closely with cross‑functional partners, including HRIS, Payroll, Reporting, and the HR Service Center. This role focuses on administering and supporting employee benefits programs with an emphasis on Workday Benefits, vendor management, audits, and Open Enrollment.

Preferred Experience

6+ years of experience in employee benefits

Proficiency with Workday or similar HRIS platforms

Healthcare industry experience

Ability to work independently and demonstrate self‑sufficiency

Specialized expertise in benefits programs (beyond general HR experience)

Strong technical aptitude and comfort with digital tools

Responsibilities

Serve as a resource and mentor to other staff on problem solving routine to complex issues related to program policies and procedures.

Participate in the development of plan descriptions, handbooks, and training programs to provide management and employees with information necessary to understand their benefit programs.

Assist employees with benefits related questions, monitor and respond to benefits e‑mail, phone and Case Management requests.

Support the payroll team related to benefit deductions and funding.

Coordinate and ensure completion of all new hire benefit enrollments, including QLE changes and benefit premiums for employees on leave.

Ensure regulatory compliance with a thorough knowledge of HIPAA, ACA, ERISA, DOL and COBRA.

Primary liaison to Human Resources Employee Service Center in communicating carrier and rate changes for benefits enrollment (open enrollment, new hire, mid‑year status change events).

Ensure proper set‑up and testing in Workday and other enterprise systems.

Provide due diligence support in reviewing and identifying benefit plan concerns and helping to design transition programs.

Evaluate proposed insurance carrier contracts and manage implementation of new insurance carriers.

Coordinate and conduct plan audits.

Monitor insurance carrier files to ensure accurate eligibility.

Additional duties may be assigned.
