Minimum Qualifications
High school graduate or have equivalent G.E.D.
At least twenty‑one (21) years of age at the time of appointment to a Police Officer
Meet such physical requirements, including minimum vision requirements, as established by the City
No felony convictions
Candidates will need to meet NLETC admission requirements in order to be hired. See this website for additional information: NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Necessary Special Requirements Possession of a valid State of Nebraska driver’s license when operating a vehicle is necessary to the satisfactory performance of assigned duties.
Nature of Work / Examples of Work Performed To be eligible for insurance benefits, employees must work at least 30 hours per week. To be eligible for the retirement plan, employees must work at least 20 hours per week. Temporary, seasonal, and unclassified employees are not eligible for benefits.
