The City of DeLand Police Department is a fully accredited law enforcement agency located in Central Florida. The city of DeLand is known as the “Athens of Florida, the home to a beautiful downtown, Stetson University and is the county seat of Volusia County.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Police Officer role located in DeLand, FL. The Police Officer will be responsible for enforcing laws, maintaining public order, and protecting life and property. Key responsibilities include conducting criminal investigations, gathering evidence, responding to emergencies, and patrolling assigned areas to prevent and detect crime. The role requires collaboration with community members and local organizations. We offer a competitive starting salary, experience pay for up to five years of prior service (3% per year up to 15%), military and police service buyback into the pension plan, DROP, vesting at 10 years of service and a 3% multiplier for every year of service.

Qualifications

Completion of a certified law enforcement training program
