Work Location: 904 Main St. Unit 3, Billings, MT 59102
Type of Position: Full Time – 40 Hours per Week
Hourly Rate: $19.88 with Uncapped Commission!
Hours: Monday‑Friday 9 am‑6 pm and rotating Saturday 8 am‑5 pm
Sign on Bonus: $2,500
Consumer Sales Representative – Retail The Consumer Sales Representative‑Retail is a key contributor in TDS’s overall consumer strategy to grow, delight and retain our customers. This position is the primary point of contact for consumer customers inquiring about products and services, and handles customers that walk‑in to our Retail stores as well as inbound customer calls when no customers are in the office.
Responsibilities
Deliver sales and retention results through exceptional customer service: Exceed or meet monthly sales goals for strategic products such as Voice, High Speed Data, TV, Mobile, and Internet Content Offerings through face‑to‑face and over‑the‑phone interactions. Use negotiation and interpersonal communication skills to prevent customer churn and promote services that fulfill customer needs.
Manage move/add/change/disconnect inquiries: Consistently provide exceptional service on all billing, seasonal service requests, toll inquiries, and other miscellaneous inquiries. Consult with customers to identify technology needs and offer TDS product solutions that may provide better value.
Adhere to cash management procedures to assure accuracy in cash and payment handling.
Resolve construction‑related issues by creating and completing triage tickets.
Stay current with promotions, products, and technology to exceed sales and retention goals. Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
Handle retail office responsibilities: restock supplies, unlock/lock office, maintain cleanliness, participate in community events, and coordinate space use with other departments.
Participate in special projects assigned by supervisor.
Required Qualifications
1+ year’s experience in a sales or customer service role.
2+ years of computer experience (order applications, Microsoft Outlook, Word, or Excel).
Follow TDS attendance guidelines to meet business and customer needs.
Other Qualifications
6+ months of experience in a fast‑paced environment managing multiple tasks.
Ability to meet or exceed sales goals.
Strong negotiation, selling, and closing skills when reselling service to customers requesting disconnect.
Handle a high volume of phone calls in a structured contact center environment.
Understanding of the telecommunications industry and its products and services.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal, written, listening).
Problem‑solving skills for customer complaints and competitive issues.
Able to work overtime with advance notice.
Work shift ending at 8:00 p.m. CST and potential Saturday rotation.
Experience resolving escalated customer issues over phone and face‑to‑face.
Successful completion of classroom training required.
Demonstrated success in a competitive sales environment.
