Position Summary The Floor & Roof Line Associate is responsible for assembling floor and roof panel components in accordance with Datums production work instructions, quality standards, and takt time requirements. This role performs station-based tasks including framing, insulation installation, sheathing, fastening, and related assembly activities required to produce completed floor and roof assemblies. The Floor & Roof Line Associate is expected to execute tasks consistently, meet assigned cycle times, and support first-pass quality in a high-throughput manufacturing environment. Core Responsibilities Assemble floor and roof panel components in accordance with production work instructions, standard work, and takt time targets established for the floor and roof line. Perform framing, fastening, sheathing, and material placement activities using hand and power tools while maintaining required quality standards and cycle times. Install insulation, subfloor or roof sheathing, and related materials per station requirements and work instructions. Verify components, dimensions, and fastening patterns are correctly positioned and secured prior to advancing assemblies to the next production stage. Execute work in a manner that supports continuous flow, minimizing rework, delays, or disruption to line balance. Move partially completed or completed floor and roof assemblies within the production line as directed, maintaining alignment with takt pacing. Identify quality issues, material defects, or process deviations and promptly escalate them to the Production Manager to prevent downstream impact. Execute assembly tasks in accordance with quality standards and corrective actions communicated by the Quality Specialist. Support quality inspections and rework activities when directed, including identification, segregation, and correction of non-conforming assemblies. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation to support repeatable execution, quality output, and on-time production. Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures, including proper use of PPE and adherence to standardized work. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience in residential framing, floor systems, roof systems, or similar manufacturing or construction environments preferred. Familiarity with floor framing, roof framing, sheathing installation, and fastening methods is a plus. Ability to safely use hand tools, pneumatic tools, and power tools common to framing and panel assembly. Ability to read and follow basic work instructions, diagrams, shop drawings, and visual aids. Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks consistently and accurately. Ability to work effectively as part of a production team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Based onsite at Datums Greenwood, SC manufacturing facility. Regular work on the production floor in a station-based horizontal assembly environment. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and move for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull materials up to 50 lbs. Frequent use of hand tools, pneumatic tools, and assembly equipment. Required use of PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots.
