The Temporary Remote Driver Qualification File (DQF) Compliance Specialist is responsible for reviewing, organizing, remediating, and maintaining
FMCSA-compliant Driver Qualification Files . This role supports the client during periods of increased workload, audits, staffing gaps, or compliance remediation, ensuring that all DQFs are
complete, current, organized, and audit-ready . Key Responsibilities
DQF Review & Audit
Conduct detailed reviews of existing Driver Qualification Files for FMCSA compliance Identify missing, expired, or non‑compliant documentation Document findings and prioritize corrective actions File Remediation & Completion
Assist with gathering and organizing required DQF documents, including: Driver application for employment Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) Medical Examiner’s Certificates Road test certificates or CDL verification Prior employer safety performance inquiries Annual certifications and reviews Ensure all documents are properly dated, signed, and formatted Compliance Monitoring
Track expiration dates for medical cards, MVRs, and annual reviews Maintain compliance calendars and reminders as needed Support ongoing file maintenance during the assignment period Audit Preparation & Support
Prepare DQFs for DOT, insurer, or third‑party audits Assist with responses to audit findings or corrective action requests Ensure files are organized, standardized, and defensible Documentation Organization
Standardize DQF structure (electronic or scanned files) Improve consistency across driver files and locations Maintain secure and confidential handling of all records Reporting & Communication
Provide regular status updates and summary reports Communicate outstanding items and risk areas clearly Coordinate with client HR, Safety, or Risk teams as needed Required Qualifications
Working knowledge of
FMCSA regulations , particularly 49 CFR Part 391 Experience with
Driver Qualification Files (DQFs)
and DOT compliance Strong attention to detail and document management skills Ability to work independently in a
remote environment Comfortable handling confidential and regulated information Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred Experience
Prior experience supporting DOT audits or compliance reviews Familiarity with electronic DQF systems or document management platforms Background in transportation safety, risk management, or compliance Experience in temporary or project‑based compliance roles Engagement Notes
Role is designed for
temporary or surge support Remote execution in most cases; on‑site work not typically required Scope and duration are flexible based on client need Oversight and coordination provided by
