Senior Specialist – Traction Power
Location: 1601 5th Avenue, Suite 800, Seattle, WA 98101
Responsibilities Manage the technical delivery aspects of traction power and overhead contact system design (traction electrification systems) from concept engineering through final design and to design support during construction. Oversee the delivery of traction power‑related construction contracts and lead the review of designer and contractor submittals for technical appropriateness, compliance with owner’s requirements, constructability and maintainability. Provide expert assistance to contractors during installation, testing and commissioning to ensure schedule progress and rigorous testing and recording of traction electrification system installation. Optimize traction electrification system performance during testing and operational phases. Lead teams to excel in technical delivery, on‑time performance and client relationship development. Communicate effectively with project managers and directors across owner and contractor organizations. Provide timely, accurate, comprehensive reporting and detailed analysis to solve emerging managerial and technical problems. Provide technical and quality assurance oversight for projects involving the delivery of new and upgrade of existing network communications systems. Demonstrate innovation, collaboration and decisive action and provide technical leadership through excellent example.
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or a related field plus eight (8) years of experience as Senior Traction Power Specialist, or related occupation involving experience in railway traction electrification systems engineering.
Five (5) years required in each of the following:
Management and oversight of design, construction, testing, and commissioning of traction power systems in a transit environment.
Working with traction power modelling software, including load flow analysis.
Design and construction of overhead contact systems for transit applications.
Technical expertise in design, manufacturing, installation, or commissioning of traction power substations in AC and DC environments.
Managing client requirements relationships including technical, schedule and budget aspects in project delivery.
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
$166,504.00 /year
