PRODUCT DEMONSTRATOR - Durham/Chapel Hill The job description of a product demonstrator focuses on prompt, efficient and friendly customer service. Prepare a demonstration of a product for the customers in the store. Offers customers samples of the product, explains the product and makes suggestions for the preparation.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting care, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee’s designated department or elsewhere in the store.
Attempts to learn customers’ names and to address them by name whenever possible.
Prepares products for sampling.
Offers samples to customers.
Answers customers’ product-related questions.
Explains products and makes suggestions on preparation.
Organizes items needed to do demonstrations.
Ensures adequate supplies are available.
Understands and practices proper sanitation procedures and ensures the work area is always clean and neat.
Adheres to company policies and individual store guidelines.
Collects and sets up products for daily demonstrations and removes products at the end of the demonstration.
Sets up and disassembles displays at designated locations (tables, supplies).
Requirements: Looking for local resident to the Durham/Chapel Hill area
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Outgoing personality, willing to engage customers.
Able to work well independently, self‑motivated and self‑managed, and as a team member.
Basic food safety knowledge.
Able to meet the physical requirements of the position, including heavy lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying tables and supplies, stooping, and standing on feet for long periods of time.
Strong attention to detail.
Grocery store or retail experience a plus.
1–3 years’ experience preferred.
Dependable vehicle.
Able to drive to various locations within Raleigh, Cary and Chapel Hill (Whole Foods/Fresh Market).
Available Friday–Monday (6–8 hrs/day) with varied days/part‑time.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
