Our mission is to create advanced robots that can operate in complex environments, reducing human risk in conflict zones and enhancing efficiency in labor-intensive industries.
We are on the lookout for extraordinary engineers and scientists to join our team. Your previous experience in robotics isn't a prerequisite — it's your talent and determination that truly count.
We expect that many of our team members will bring diverse perspectives from various industries and fields. We are looking for individuals with a proven record of exceptional ability and a history of creating things that work.
Our Culture:
We like to be frank and honest about who we are, so that people can decide for themselves if this is a culture they resonate with. Please read more about our culture here
Who should join:
- You like working in person with a team in San Francisco.
- You deeply believe that this is the most important mission for humanity and needs to happen yesterday.
- You are highly technical - regardless of the role you are in. We are building technology; you need to understand technology well.
- You care about aesthetics and design inside out. If it's not the best product ever, it bothers you, and you need to “fix” it.
- You don't need someone to motivate you; you get things done.
Why We Are Hiring for This Role:
- As an Assembly Technician on our manufacturing team, you will play a key role in assembling, testing, and finalizing robotic systems. You will work across multiple shifts in a high-energy, fast-paced environment, collaborating closely with mechanical, electrical and software teams. This is a hands‑on role requiring attention to detail, high quality standards, and the ability to work efficiently within a startup culture.
What Kind of Person We Are Looking For:
- Assemble mechanical and electromechanical components of robotic systems according to build recipes, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Perform wiring, cable harnesses, connectors, pneumatic/hydraulic fittings as required.
- Install and mount motors, sensors, actuators, control boards into robot subsystems.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to troubleshoot assembly issues; elevate as needed.
- Perform functional tests, quality checks and validation of sub-assemblies and final units.
- Log assembly data, track component usage, document build steps and results in our manufacturing tracking system.
- Support multi‑shift manufacturing operations (including evening/night/weekend shifts) and flexible scheduling.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace; adhere to safety protocols and lean manufacturing practices.
- Continuously improve assembly processes: propose efficiencies, participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Assist with inventory organization, parts staging, and support for manufacturing flow as needed.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of hands‑on assembly experience in a manufacturing, robotics, electromechanical or similar environment.
- Comfort working with mechanical tools, hand tools, power screwdrivers, torque wrenches, etc.
- Basic understanding of electrical wiring, cables, connectors; ability to follow wiring diagrams.
- Strong attention to detail and quality mindset: able to identify defects, verify assembly meets specifications.
- Willingness to work multiple shifts and flexible schedule (e.g., evenings, nights, weekends as required).
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, work in a shop/manufacturing environment.
- Self‑starter with a collaborative team attitude and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced startup environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or certificate in manufacturing technology, electronics, mechatronics, or similar discipline.
- Prior experience assembling robotics, automation systems, or complex electromechanical devices.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or Kaizen practices.
- Familiarity with reading mechanical drawings, wiring schematics and work instructions.
- Experience working in a multi‑shift assembly operation.
- We provide market standard benefits (health, vision, dental, 401k, etc.). Join us for the culture and the mission, not for the benefits.
- The annual compensation is expected to be between $65,000 - $80,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
