Spartanburg Housing currently has an opening for an Lead Intake Specialist. This is a full‑time position. Overview:

The primary purpose of this position is to provide management and leadership support for the daily operations of processing applications for families and individuals applying for housing assistance, gathering all required documents and verifications to determine eligibility for assistance, performing required background checks, calculating, and computing rental assistance and ensuring that all vouchers are properly utilized within the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) department. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Oversee the work of staff including the screening of HCV, Project Based Vouchers (PBV), Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD), Veteran Supportive Services Housing (VASH) and all special program applications to determine eligibility and suitability for receiving housing assistance. Reviewing staff work, evaluating work performance and completing performance evaluations, training staff, acting on employee problems and recommending and implementing discipline. Manages the HCV waiting list by determining the opening of the waiting lists and receiving the applications. Verifies the accuracy of data obtained from applicants. Determine the voucher size for which each family qualifies, in accordance with the Administrative Plan. Provides monthly status reports of voucher issuance for all programs. Requirements:

Bachelor's degree, from an accredited college or university, in Business Administration or related field, and a minimum of three (1) years of increasingly responsible experience with the Housing Choice Voucher Program. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which, in the sole determination of Spartanburg Housing, provides the required knowledge and abilities, may be considered sufficient.
