The Senior Mechanic role will oversee daily maintenance tasks, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment. They will also assist in training junior mechanics and perform preventive maintenance. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential.
Responsibilities
Perform and/or direct the performance of all maintenance departmental service requests, ensuring efficient work with minimal disruption.
Check malfunctioning equipment and determine corrective action to restore satisfactory operating condition.
Provide training and supervision to expand the capabilities of the operations staff, including hands‑on instruction in basic maintenance, safety, and troubleshooting procedures.
Supervise and implement the preventative maintenance program, schedule tasks, order parts, and maintain inventory.
Direct performance of contracted maintenance work, ensuring timely execution and management of warranty obligations.
Maintain, monitor, and perform preventive maintenance on all building systems: fire/life safety, mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, controls), electrical (lighting, UPS, PDU, generators, primary switch gear), emergency backup systems, hot water systems, refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment.
Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials and keep a clean and safe workplace.
Ensure an adequate operating inventory of tools and supplies, preparing purchase‑order requests and sourcing stock materials.Protect and improve the value of the client’s assets, ensuring engineering systems perform as intended.
Keep records of building rounds, readings, engineering logs, and data sheets.
Advance training and notify all contractors on incident response and emergency escalation procedures.
Ensure strict adherence to JLL’s engineering guidelines, processes, and procedures.
Perform additional job duties as requested.
