Position Overview
Lead the preconstruction process for HVAC and plumbing projects, including planning, budgeting, estimating, and early design development.
Provide technical leadership and collaborate closely with clients and internal teams.
Build relationships with new clients while providing exceptional service to existing ones.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all preconstruction activities: prospecting, design coordination, estimating, budgeting, and feasibility analysis.
Work with clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams to define project scopes and ensure constructability.
Review mechanical and plumbing system designs; provide value-engineering recommendations.
Prepare detailed, accurate, and competitive cost estimates and project proposals.
Manage bid processes, subcontractor outreach, qualifications, and procurement planning.
Ensure smooth handoff from preconstruction to operations and project management teams.
Monitor industry trends, codes, and best practices to enhance internal processes.
Support business development with technical expertise and client presentations.
Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, mechanical/plumbing design, or project management.
Strong expertise in commercial, multi-family, and institutional construction.
Experience with estimating software, BIM, AutoCAD, Revit, or related tools (preferred, not required).
Strong understanding of mechanical and plumbing codes, construction methods, and cost analysis.
Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
PE license preferred, but not required.
