Senior Project Designer Overview

The Senior Project Designer possesses a strong design portfolio, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to lead the design execution from concept through construction architectural projects of multiple scales.

Responsibilities

Provide design leadership for multiple projects through their duration including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.

Work closely with teams across the firm to promote, model, and execute an interdisciplinary, holistic design approach that enhances the culture of design excellence and building performance.

Facilitate collaboration with internal and external teams, professional consultants, and other strategic partners.

Participate in design iterations with team members in generating and directing 3D modeling, utilizing various software such as Revit, Sketchup, Rhino, Enscape, and Lumion in conjunction with Adobe Creative Suite.

Provide strategically minded design support for the firm and communicate key firm initiatives and strategies.

Guide and mentor designers.

Provide vision for proposals and strategy for interviews to secure project opportunities.

Help to nurture and sustain client relations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s of Architecture.

10+ years of relevant experience with corresponding portfolio demonstrating various phases of project work. Be prepared to show examples of Programming, Schematic, & Design Development, CD’s as well as finished project photos.

Ability to clearly and effectively communicate and present design concepts and rationales graphically, verbally, and through writing.

Understanding and experience integrating sustainable and universal design principles. Sustainability credentials preferred (ex: LEED AP, Well AP, etc.).

Ability to address client requests, budget considerations, existing or new architectural opportunities or constraints or other impacts on design concept.

Ability to sketch/draw by hand.

Knowledge of sustainable and universal design concepts.

Competency in Revit, SketchUp, Rhino (Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.

Architectural license preferred.
