PURPOSE:

Manages the Fresh Cut operation according to company standards. Supervises Fresh Cut Department employees, provides customer service, and ensures product quality, freshness, safety, and selection.

Responsibilities

Champions customer service programs to meet or exceed goals and resolves customer complaints.

Supervises, motivates, trains, and schedules personnel, and recommends actions such as hiring, firing, layoff, and discipline.

Prepares fresh fruits, vegetables, and salads; stocks, dates, and rotates products to maintain quality, freshness, and selection.

Receives, checks, and controls inventory to ensure adequate quantity, quality, and freshness.

Creates effective promotional and seasonal displays.

Complies with food and workplace safety rules; ensures proper pricing and signage.

Assists customers with product suggestions and engages in suggestive selling.

Maintains safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of the work area, cooler, equipment, and display area.

Performs all job duties safely, accurately, and with integrity.

Skills and Physical Requirements

Knowledge of Fresh Cut Department duties and procedures.

Excellent communication skills and composure with customers and co‑workers.

Understanding of company practices, policies, and food safety procedures.

Frequent lifting, bending, stooping, and reaching of objects up to ~50 lb; repetitive arm movements while preparing, packaging, and displaying products.

Manual dexterity, good eye‑hand coordination, and mental alertness.

Basic mathematics and measurements knowledge.

Operation of scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, knives, safety cutters, and latex gloves.

May work nights, weekends, and holidays; scheduled hours vary; good attendance required.

Exposure to potential hazards from equipment and work aids.

Work Environment

Frequent exposure to water, ice, and cleaning agents.

Low temperatures: 35 °F in cold cases and 28 °F in cooler handling.

Temperature‑controlled store environment.
