Job Summary/Basic Function This is a temporary (4 month), project-based opportunity for recent graduates or students majoring in English Language and Literature, Communication, Professional Sales or Marketing. Project completion deadline is April 30, 2026. Open Educational Resources (OER) are free and openly licensed educational materials that can be used for teaching, learning, and research. The Intern will work with the OER Coordinator, librarians and professors in developing a style guide which will assist faculty who are adapting, and creating high quality OER and other affordable course materials. In addition, this position will provide editing, proofreading, and layout assistance in publishing openly licensed learning materials in the Pressbooks platform. This position will be no more than 20 hours a week and will work on campus in the Stewart Library. The schedule can be adapted to provide those 20 hours any time Monday – Friday between 8 AM and 5 PM. Project completion deadline is April 30, 2026.

Required Qualifications Completion of ENGL 2010, ENGL 2015 or any upper division composition-based courses

Preferred Qualifications

Detail-oriented student with research and editing experience

Self-motivated and able to work on projects individually and manage multiple projects at once

Excellent communication skills, including but not limited to: technical writing, computer skills, and professional communication

Academic or professional experience in one or more of the following areas: editing, writing for websites, journalism, social media, public relations, marketing, content management, or curriculum development

Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important instructions to other workers accurately or quickly. , Ability to receive detailed information with or without assistance., Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Physical Requirements of this position Light work. Exerting up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Use of arm and/or leg controls exerting forces greater than that for sedentary work.

Visual Acuity Requirements Including color, depth perception and field of vision. Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading.
