Required Qualifications

Demonstrated experience producing digital media content (video, audio, photography) for websites, social media, or marketing campaigns.

Experience creating digital media content for websites and social media for research and marketing.

Experience creating digital media assets for marketing, promotions, events, or organizational outreach.

Experience developing and proofing digital publications.

Ability to create, manage, and update digital publications, applications, and online content.

Proficiency with multimedia production software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Audition, Photoshop, Lightroom, Canva, DaVinci Resolve).

Ability to use, maintain, and troubleshoot video and audio hardware (cameras, microphones, lighting, recorders).

Experience working collaboratively on creative projects with cross-functional teams.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media Innovation, Mass Communication, Film Production, Graphic Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications Experience with university or research institution communications preferred.

Job Description The Translational Health Research Center (THRC) at Texas State University facilitates applied research and events through partnerships with faculty, staff, students, businesses, community members, nonprofits, and government organizations.

THRC is currently seeking a Digital Media Specialist to provide and coordinate digital media production for the center. This role is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented multimedia professional who can produce high-quality video, audio, and photography across platforms, including social media, websites, email marketing, and podcasts.

Job Duties Website + Email Management

Responsible for managing and updating content on THRC websites through the university’s CMS.

Create and upload graphics, images, and videos optimized for web accessibility and performance.

Support email marketing campaigns by preparing digital assets, assisting with layout, and ensuring brand consistency.

Digital Media Production

Produce photography, video, and other digital content for THRC’s communications and research outreach efforts.

Film and edit short-form social media videos and long-form content for YouTube and other platforms.

Set up and operate audio, lighting, and video equipment for interviews, podcasts, panel discussions, webinars, and promotional pieces.

Capture high-quality B-roll and event photography consistent with THRC branding and visual guidelines.

Edit and mix audio and video using professional post-production tools.

Podcast + Recording Support

Set up podcast recording equipment for in-studio and remote sessions.

Manage audio/video recording, file organization, post-production cleanup, and publishing workflows.

Project Coordination

Manage multimedia workflows from concept to final delivery, ensuring timely execution and adherence to project deadlines.

Collaborate with THRC staff, faculty partners, and external collaborators to plan and produce digital content.

Organize and maintain media libraries, raw footage, photography archives, and project files.

Other Duties

Assist with social media asset creation.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
