Role Overview HATCH for Hunger is seeking a
Sales Account Manager
to own
demand creation, product movement, and account health
across our national network of food banks and food pantries.
This role serves as the commercial engine of the organization — ensuring eggs, chicken, turkey, beef, and dairy move efficiently from producers to families. You will grow recurring demand, drive cross-protein adoption, and deepen strategic relationships with partners across the charitable food ecosystem.
The ideal candidate is a
relationship-driven closer
with strong operational fluency, exceptional follow-through, and a deep commitment to solving food insecurity at scale.
Key Responsibilities 1. Sales & Demand Generation
Proactively sell available protein inventory to food banks and pantries
Own weekly and monthly demand cycles, closing commitments and moving product predictably
Translate pricing, logistics, and inventory into compelling partner offers
Drive adoption of priority protein categories and strategic product mix
2. Account Ownership & Health Management
Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned accounts
Monitor order frequency, product mix, engagement levels, and partner budgets
Identify at-risk accounts early and execute recovery plans
Maintain accurate CRM records (Salesforce/Acumatica) including notes, forecasts, and opportunities
3. Opportunity Identification & Growth
Expand partner usage into additional protein categories
Identify new program opportunities and recurring purchase pathways
Surface field insights related to product preferences and market conditions
Support seasonal programs, pilots, and opportunity-buy initiatives
4. Strategic Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Procurement, Operations, and Logistics to align supply, pricing, and timing
Provide real-time demand signals for more accurate supply planning
Collaborate with Marketing and Programs on messaging and partner engagement strategy
5. Mission Stewardship & Relationship Leadership
Represent HATCH with professionalism, credibility, and empathy
Build transparent, trust-based partnerships with food banks and pantries
Balance urgency to move product with respect for partner capacity and constraints
Serve as a visible ambassador for HATCH’s mission and values
Qualifications
5–10 years of experience in sales, account management, or business development
Proven ability to close deals in relationship-driven environments
Experience managing a book of business with measurable results
Strong organizational skills and relentless follow-through
Comfort using CRM systems (Salesforce/Acumatica preferred)
Excellent communication — direct, empathetic, credible
Alignment with HATCH’s mission and values
Strongly Preferred
Experience in food, CPG, agriculture, logistics, or nonprofit/social enterprise sales
Experience working with food banks, institutional buyers, or budget-constrained customers
Experience collaborating with operations or supply chain teams
Ability to engage both frontline operators and senior leadership
