E-Commerce Photographer (In-house Freelance) Location: Downtown Los Angeles (In-Person) Employment Type: Contract Schedule: Freelance (Depends on project), Monday-Friday 8am-5pm Portfolio required. Compensation: Based on Experience (negotiable) Responsibilities Photoshoots: Scouting, Booking, Equipment Preparation, Light Testing, Photographing (E-Commerce and Proto) Editing & Retouching: Select, Edit, and retouch images to ensure a polished final product. Dropship editing for accounts weekly. Work together with the sales team to know the uploading schedule so you can prioritize and see the volume. Proper lighting use is crucial. Understanding how to manipulate light (natural or artificial) to highlight products, remove blemishes, correct color, adjust brightness/contrast, and ensure the image is high‑quality is essential. Understand our different platforms (e.g., Amazon, Etsy, and Shopify) have specific image size, format, resolution, and aspect ratio requirements. Knowledge of optimizing images with relevant keywords and proper alt text for search engine optimization (SEO) helps improve product visibility. Understanding how to use studio lights, soft boxes, reflectors, and diffusers can make a big difference in the final output. Understanding how our brand wants to be perceived and shooting images that align with the brand’s aesthetic is crucial for consistency across a product catalog. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in photography – a bachelor’s degree or equivalent years in the field. Must provide a portfolio. Must have product photography techniques. Post‑Processing and Editing skills. Studio setup and equipment knowledge. Branding knowledge. Time management and efficiency. Communication and collaboration. Problem‑solving skills.
