Assembly Technician
Plan and perform a wide variety of fitting, assembly, installation, and alignment of complicated parts to exacting customer tolerances and operating requirements. Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine sequence, tooling requirements, measurements, and allowable tolerances. Build a variety of parts; install boxes and special components for the truck design. Responsible for filling vehicle systems with proper fluids for safe and proper operation and for testing the action of moving parts prior to final inspection. Check in parts, equipment, and vehicles. Assist with organizing parts and equipment. Maintain a clean work area/shop/warehouse. Responsibilities: Build vehicles according to work instructions and prints. Safely mount and connect mechanical and electrical equipment. Test installed parts prior to final inspection. Verify all line items have been completed on the work order. Communicate suggestions and errors to relevant departments for continuous improvement. Inspect for safe operation workmanship, alignment, operating performance, and mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical requirements. Check truck's vital fluid levels and adjust to specifications. Review finished product before delivery to customer. Ensure proper decaling to meet customer's specifications. Record any defective equipment. Organize data to assist in training shop employees on production errors. Comply with the company's safety policies and clean initiative standards. Essential Skills: 1-3 years of previous electrical, mechanical, and equipment assembly experience. Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools. Basic Microsoft skills. Blueprint reading. Understanding of electrical schematics and 12V circuits. Troubleshooting skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Completion or current enrollment in an accredited Technical School. Ability to think independently and request assistance when needed. Capability to work in multiple environments
