SALARY RANGE The

starting

salary range for Energy Trading Analyst I is $75,600 - $94,500 (based on qualifications). With tenure and strong performance in this role an employee may earn up to a maximum of $113,400, annualized.

The

starting

salary range for Energy Trading Analyst II is $87,920 - $109,900 (based on qualifications). With tenure and strong performance in this role an employee may earn up to a maximum of $131,880, annualized.

The

starting

salary range for the Energy Trading Analyst III is $110,800 - $138,500 (based on qualifications). With tenure and strong performance in this role an employee may earn up to a maximum of $166,200, annualized.

The

starting

salary range for the Energy Trading Analyst Senior is $121,600 - $152,000 (based on qualifications). With tenure and strong performance in this role an employee may earn up to a maximum of $182,400, annualized.

Introductory Period:

New employees holding regular positions must complete an introductory period of twelve months.

Energy Trading Analyst I Job Summary Reporting to the Director of Energy Structuring & Trading, the Energy Trading Analyst I supports wholesale energy marketing and trading activities through quantitative and economic analysis. This entry-level role assists with modeling, market analysis, and transaction review to help maximize the value of Chelan PUD’s energy portfolio while ensuring alignment with risk management guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

Assist in analyzing energy, capacity, and carbon market variables and current market conditions

Support development and maintenance of power supply, demand, and price curve models

Review energy transactions for accuracy and compliance with risk management guidelines

Assist with forecasting, reporting, and portfolio performance monitoring

Support compliance analysis related to renewable energy and regulatory requirements

Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Skills and Abilities

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Basic knowledge of energy markets, finance principles, and contract administration

Familiarity with federal and state power industry regulations

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data visualization tools

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Education and Experience Requirements

Energy Trading Analyst II Job Summary Reporting to the Director of Energy Structuring & Trading, the Energy Trading Analyst II performs moderately complex quantitative and economic analysis in support of wholesale energy marketing and trading. This role contributes to forecasting, market evaluation, and transaction analysis to optimize revenue and manage portfolio risk.

Job Responsibilities

Analyze energy market conditions and moderately complex pricing variables

Evaluate energy transactions for pricing, counterparty risk, and contract terms

Maintain and enhance forecasting models, price curves, and analytical tools

Assess regulatory and legislative impacts on energy markets and revenues

Monitor compliance with renewable energy and regulatory requirements

Support market analysis, reporting, and relationship development activities

Skills and Abilities

Strong financial, mathematical, and analytical skills

Working knowledge of energy modeling, finance, and contract administration

Understanding of federal and state power industry regulations

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data visualization tools

Energy Trading Analyst III Job Summary Reporting to the Director of Energy Structuring & Trading, the Energy Trading Analyst III conducts complex quantitative and economic analysis to support wholesale energy marketing, trading strategies, and portfolio optimization. This role plays a key part in forecasting, transaction evaluation, regulatory analysis, and strategic decision-making.

Job Responsibilities

Analyze complex market variables and develop recommendations for trading strategies

Develop and maintain advanced forecasting models and price curves

Evaluate energy transactions and recommend actions consistent with risk guidelines

Analyze regulatory, legislative, and market changes and recommend responses

Identify and evaluate future energy and capacity surpluses or deficits

Represent Chelan PUD in industry meetings and collaborative work groups

Senior Energy Trading Analyst Job Summary Reporting to the Director of Energy Structuring & Trading, the Senior Energy Trading Analyst leads complex wholesale energy marketing and trading analysis. This role provides strategic insight, advanced modeling, and expert recommendations to optimize Chelan PUD’s energy portfolio while managing financial and regulatory risk.
