Job Summary The UGE Leadman is responsible for leading the crew in the installation and repair of underground lines in a safe manner while maintaining the required quality standards. This position supports the Line team and works with personnel within the department.

Responsibilities

Supervise UGE Laborer/Groundman staff, including training and coaching.

Gather materials for the job of the day and ensure the crew has everything required.

Distribute material safely at the job site.

Assist with any work necessary to complete the job.

Operate construction and jobsite equipment safely, such as rubber‑tired backhoe, skid‑steer loader, directional drill, trencher, asphalt paving machine, etc.

Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma, or equivalent.

2 years of related experience or training.

Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

3 or more years of experience.

Previous supervisory experience in construction and/or the utility industry.

CDL Class A license.

Physical Demands and Work Environment This job operates in a field environment. The role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Work may also be conducted in inclement weather conditions such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. The position is physically active and requires lifting up to 50 pounds. Clear vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, precise hand‑eye coordination, and ability to identify and distinguish colors are essential.
