Major Duties & Responsibilities
Greets all customers with a warm welcome, exchanges names, and ensures they know what to expect.
Custom fits glasses and precisely places prescription in lenses.
Acts as a leader in optical acumen providing a voice for associates.
Takes and records measurements, adjusts or fits eyewear correctly, and ensures finished eyewear meets standards and customer requirements.
Attracts new customers and explores their needs and priorities by asking open‑ended questions.
Is attentive to details, asks follow‑up questions for clarity, reads verbal/non‑verbal cues, reviews prescriptions, and identifies special needs.
Assists co‑workers with difficult or complex product or prescription areas.
Utilizes store tools and adheres to Brand Store Commitments.
Performs work accurately and thoroughly using all technology, even under time pressure and high customer volume. Demonstrates superior product knowledge and takes the initiative to accurately describe features and benefits of lenses and frames.
Anticipates problems, explores underlying reasons for customer issues, and strives to develop long‑term solutions. Ensures customers are satisfied and expectations are exceeded.
Possesses the ability to multi‑task, prioritize, and manage time with competing priorities.
Commits to delivery date and time, seeks feedback, and asks for referrals.
Strives to achieve exceptional results on Brand KPIs and competencies.
Prepares and presents eyewear at pick‑up, celebrating new purchases with education.
Takes pride in store appearance, keeps the store clean, attractive, and organized, and protects company assets in your control.
Informs management of safety opportunities and demonstrates safe work practices.
Possesses a “can‑do” spirit, strong drive for results, and self‑motivation with a desire for continual learning and improvement.
Adheres to company policies and procedures, including discounting, promotions, and inventory management.
Sells on your feet 80–100% of the time.
Additional duties may be assigned as needed (e.g., customer calls, dispensing eyewear).
Maintains proper dress code, including name tag and associate tablet.
Basic Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent.
State licensure as an optician.
Optical dispensing experience.
Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener, and team builder.
Knowledge of current store merchandise.
Basic math skills.
Awareness of current fashion trends.
Selling skills – ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet.
Familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators.
Pay Range: $27.47 – $36.68 per hour. Employee pay is determined by geography, experience, qualifications, and local minimum wage requirements.
