Meridian is the preeminent restaurant located in the heart of the new community enhancement neighborhood of The Village Dallas that is opening in early 2020. Meridian's cuisine will be ingredient-focused led by the unyielding dedication of award-winning Chef Junior Borges to source from the finest producers of fresh, wholesome ingredients. The restaurant’s dining room and patios will be canopied by majestic live oaks. The dining room will be appropriately elevated yet welcoming and comfortable befitting the celebration of life's momentous occasions or an everyday indulgence.
JOB SUMMARY A server assistant accommodates guests by setting and maintaining organization throughout the Front of House and Back of House areas. He/She will primarily assist both the host and server teams to ensure fluidity and proper preparation throughout service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Interact with guests in a warm and friendly manner
Prepares dining room for guests by cleaning and setting tables; setting decorations, condiments, candles, linen, service plates, and utensils
Protects restaurant and guests by adhering to sanitation and safety policies
Maintains menu presentation by keeping menus clean; replacing damaged or soiled pages
Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to guest spills or other special needs
Supports server by setting-up and replenishing condiment stands, trash containers liners and service/bus stations
Closes dining room by cleaning chairs and tables; sweeping and/or vacuuming floors and removing trash and recyclables from the facility
Updates job knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by leader
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or related preferred
Minimum 1+ years experience in a high-end restaurant preferred
Current Food Handler’s certification
Friendly, courteous, and well-spoken
Works well with a team
Organized and detail oriented with the ability to be flexible
An appetite for growth and further knowledge in the food and beverage field
Operate with passion, integrity, and respect for both internal team members and external guests
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move product, equipment and supplies up to fifty (50) pounds
Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
