Job Summary:
Our Detroit, Michigan facility is looking for a diligent Shipping & Receiving Associate to manage the flow of goods in and out of our warehouse. This role is critical for ensuring that all shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and safely. You will be responsible for both receiving incoming merchandise and preparing outgoing orders for shipment. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately document all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Pick, pack, and stage orders for outgoing shipment.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Maintain an organized and clean shipping and receiving area.
- Ensure compliance with all company Safety policies and regulations, including the use of PPE.
- Coordinate with carriers for pick-ups and deliveries.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving is required.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Ability to operate material handling equipment; forklift certification is a plus.
- Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain operations.
- Capable of performing physical tasks, including frequent Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Commitment to Safety and attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
