Summary
Chatham High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our athletic department as a Freshman Boys Lacrosse Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the sport, a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment, and the ability to develop young athletes' skills both on and off the field. This is a seasonal position that offers an opportunity to inspire and mentor high school students while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
Responsibilities
Plan and conduct daily practices, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and game strategies.
Organize and oversee all aspects of the freshman boys lacrosse program, including scheduling games and practices.
Foster a positive and supportive team culture that encourages sportsmanship and respect among players.
Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and player development.
Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practices and games.
Collaborate with other coaching staff to develop a cohesive lacrosse program across all levels.
Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to support individual growth.
Assist in organizing team events, including fundraising activities and community service opportunities.
Uphold and enforce school policies, rules, and regulations regarding athletics and conduct.
Requirements
NJ Teaching Credential OR NJ Substitute Credential
Previous coaching experience or playing experience in lacrosse at the high school or collegiate level is preferred.
Strong knowledge of lacrosse fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with players, parents, and staff.
Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to reach their full potential.
First Aid/CPR certification is preferred or the willingness to obtain certification before the season begins.
Must pass a background check and adhere to all school and district policies regarding safety and conduct.
Availability to commit to the entire lacrosse season, including practices, games, and team events.
A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for developing young athletes both on and off the field.
Salary $6,214.80
This is not a benefits eligible position.
