Salary Range: $15.00 To $18.00 Hourly

Summary for Crew Member Executes duties under the direction of the Captain , to ensure the safe operation and maintenance of the vessel. Assist the Captain in monitor ing vessel systems and troubleshooting problems. Interact with passengers and perform customer service duties. Provide passenger safety while underway and always maintain an impeccably clean & safe vessel. Interact with passengers by answering questions and helping with specific requests. Operate a g al l ey and gift shop which includes food preparation, snack service, retail presentations , and the sale of local retail products. T his is a rotating position, requiring working equally in the galley and as well as assisting with deckhand duties.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities for Crew Member

Direct and assist passenger movement on and about the vessel.

Participate in apassenger safety orientation and maintain safe conditions underway.

Check all engine/jet fluids upon arriving on thevessel each morning, bring all equipment online, log all entries, and report any problems to the Captain .

Assist with passenger boarding, safety orientation/demonstration, and crowd control.

Be familiar with all safety equipment and operations on board the vessel.

Complete routine engine room checks are underway, making minor mechanical repairs and adjustments as necessary, and assisting crew members to ensure that passengers receive optimum tour quality and premium customer service.

Assist theCaptain in thewheelhouse with navigating and/or wildlife sighting as directed.

Maintain vessel appearance, with regards to cleanliness and safety, in engine and jet rooms, in voids, and on decks. Assist other crew with cabin, galley, and bathrooms.

Help operate galley, bar, and commissary, including preparation & distribution of meals, sales, stocking, inventory order lists, and related paperwork.

Under thedirection of the Captain , complete all routine vessel maintenance daily. This will include, but not be limited to cleaning, sanitation pumping, restocking, and refueling.

Assist theCaptain to perform required safety checks of all essential equipment on a weekly basis. Maintain current and accurate logs.

Work with theCaptain to complete all mandatory vessel maintenance every month, including but not limited to oil/filter changes, zinc/belt replacement, etc.

Identify problems, inform the Captain , and assist in performing needed repairs.

Perform other duties under thesupervision of the Captain .

Special projects may be assigned as required by the business.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) for Crew Member

Requires basic seamanship skills. Mechanical aptitude and some experience with diesel engines arerequired.

Must be able to work as a team with other crew to provide quality experience for customers, including answering questions and providing commentary.

Must be able to work as a team member and be comfortable interacting with guests.

Must be clean, well-groomed, courteous, honest, and most important, reliable.

Writing skills capable of completing forms and making log entries

Must be 18+.

Must have some vessel/crew experience.

Valid US driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Must pass a security background check and DOT drug test.

Required Certifications for Crew Member Certifications required before thefirst day of employment include:

CPR / FA certification

TAPS certification to serve alcohol (Employees 21+ must obtain)

Preferred Qualifications for Crew Member

Previous experience on passenger-carrying vessels.

Ability to stand for long periods on steel decks with constant vibration and moderate levels of noise.

Required to enter voids/engine rooms as needed

Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Ability to walk on uneven deck surfaces crossing from vessel to vessel.
