For Light-Matter Interactions group in the Laboratory for Materials Simulations LMS of the PSI Center for Scientific Computing, Theory, and Data CSD we are looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow in theoretical and computational modelling of ARPES.

Responsibilities

Carry out research theory of angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy ARPES

Implement new methods in and improve open-source scientific software in the group

Perform first-principles simulations of ARPES for materials relevant to orbitronics

Identify fingerprints of orbital angular momentum

Identify promising materials for orbitronics applications

Collaboration with experimental groups

Support research and teaching activities generally

Your profile

A PhD degree in Physics or a closely related field

A strong background in theoretical condensed matter physics or related disciplines

Basic knowledge photoemission spectroscopy or related techniques

Theoretical and practical knowledge of first-principles simulations of materials based on DFT

Good programming skills in Fortran and Python

Good command of English and excellent communication skills

The ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with both theoretical and experimental partners is essential
