Solaris HealthCare is seeking an Activities CNA to join our team! Responsibilities
Activity Planning: Develop and implement a diverse range of activities and programs tailored to the interests and abilities of residents, including but not limited to arts and crafts, music therapy, games, exercise classes, and cultural events.
Individualized Care: Assess the interests, preferences, and cognitive abilities of residents to customize activity plans and ensure participation and enjoyment for all residents, including those with special needs or cognitive impairments.
Group Facilitation: Lead group activities and events, encouraging resident participation and fostering a sense of community and belonging among residents.
One-on-One Engagement: Provide one-on-one interaction and engagement with residents who may require individualized attention or assistance with activities.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities, as well as observations of resident engagement, behavior, and mood. Report any changes or concerns to the appropriate supervisor or healthcare professional.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team, including nurses, therapists, and social workers, to coordinate care plans and ensure the holistic well‑being of residents.
Safety and Supervision: Ensure the safety and well‑being of residents during activities, providing supervision and assistance as needed. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
Communication: Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff, providing information about upcoming activities, encouraging participation, and addressing any questions or concerns.
Resource Management: Maintain inventory of activity supplies and equipment. Assist with the procurement of materials and resources needed for activities and events.
Requirements
Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required.
Previous experience working with elderly individuals, preferably in a long‑term care or assisted living setting, is preferred but not required.
Genuine compassion for the elderly and a desire to enhance their quality of life through meaningful activities and interactions.
Creative and innovative approach to activity planning, with the ability to develop engaging programs that cater to a diverse range of interests and abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the overall well‑being and care of residents.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the needs and preferences of residents.
Physical stamina: ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods, and assist residents with mobility and activities as needed.
