Merchandiser – Kennewick/Tri‑Cities – Kennewick, WA
Join Columbia Distributing as a Merchandiser in the Kennewick and Tri‑Cities markets. This full‑time role works with distribution, sales, and retail partners to stock, rotate, and display beverages at customer stores.
Key Responsibilities
Work product from store backstock and delivery loads; handle cases, bottles, and cans of beer, wine, spirits, and non‑alcoholic beverages.
Fill and rotate product in cold boxes, on dry shelves, and build and maintain displays with POS as needed.
Drive a personal vehicle on the assigned route; merchandisers do not transport product in personal vehicles.
Provide excellent customer service to assigned accounts and build positive relationships with co‑workers, supervisors, and managers.
Engage in direct communication with store personnel and sales teammates to complete account services.
Accurately clock in and out of the required timekeeping application, adhering to state labor laws for breaks.
Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Columbia Distributing’s Core Values at all times.
Complete all other tasks or projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 18 years of age.
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required; must drive for assigned route.
Own and be able to operate a mobile smart phone device.
Previous grocery or retail experience preferred.
Strong work ethic, self‑accountability, excellent oral communication, ability to develop strong relationships.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks through effective organizational and time management skills.
Physical Demands
Lift or carry 35 lbs. repetitively and up to 60 lbs.; push or pull up to 100 lbs. with manual cart or pallet jack.
Climb stairs, work indoors and outdoors, bend, stoop, crouch, squat, use arms and hands.
Work Environment Full‑time position; local travel required, regional travel may be requested; available to work weekends; may include overtime.
Compensation & Benefits $18.00–$19.00 per hour. Employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, 401(k) plan, 80 hours of vacation yearly, and 7–8 days of paid holidays.
Classification: Non‑Exempt. Report to the Regional Merchandising Manager.
