Volunteer - Healthy Living Internship

– YMCA of Florida's First Coast

Select one of the first 25 applicants to grow your experience in healthy living and community service while pursuing a degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Public Health, Health Science, or Lifestyle Medicine.

Responsibilities and Duties

Marketing Healthy Living initiatives – create material to highlight our many healthy living programs.

Assist the Brooks Rehab team with the Adaptive Program.

Create, lead, and assist Healthy Aging events with the Healthy Aging Coordinator.

Create, lead, and assist Wellness challenges with the Healthy Living Director.

Assist with group exercise procedures and protocols alongside the Healthy Living Director.

Assist with Chronic Disease Programs under the guidance of the Healthy Living Director/Facilitator.

Other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Desired Skills

Good organizational and execution skills, focus on detail.

Strong team player who can work independently.

Enjoys collaborating and takes directions from other teammates.

High level of written and oral communication.

Comfortable with public speaking and facilitation.

Excellent customer service required – friendly, personable, helpful, patient, and professional.

Must meet acceptable criminal background check standards and pass a drug test.

Must complete onboarding trainings prior to internship in a timely manner.

Hours and Days Interns are expected to work between 15‑20 hours per week, primarily during the daytime (9 am–5 pm, Monday‑Friday) with occasional evening and weekend program events/meetings.

Interns will learn skills to effectively connect organizations, enhancing membership engagement and services.
