About Westminster at Lake Ridge Westminster at Lake Ridge is a premier Continuing Care Retirement Community serving older adults in three levels of service: Independent Living, Assisted Living, and a Health Center. Our team of roughly 270 employees serves a population of over 400 residents on 62 acres adjacent to the Occoquan reservoir. Westminster at Lake Ridge is certified as a Great Place to Work. Job Summary This position is responsible for table service in the Community dining rooms.
Qualifications High school diploma or GED, six months to one year of dining room service experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent customer service, knowledge of sanitation and cleaning methods, and be proficient in the operation of the computer application Meal Tracker.
Key Responsibilities
Room Set Up: Assist with table and chair set up of the Dining Room and banquet rooms; complete daily set up procedures for dining room including table, chair, linen, cutlery, glasses and place settings; ensure all tables and chairs are set according to Dining Room manager standards; assist with buffet and tray set up; retrieve tables and chairs from storage; begin shift by checking assigned tables.
Service Functions: Greet residents, visitors and staff in a professional and courteous manner; advise on menu items; take order and enter into computer system; prepare drinks; check on diners to ensure satisfaction and follow up with Dining Room Manager; ensure residents are correctly entered into the computer for charging; bus and set designated tables; refill condiments; pick up and deliver required food items from kitchen to assigned dining rooms; maintain dietary restrictions procedures.
Cleaning and Sanitation: Perform cleaning and sanitation of the Dining Room to ensure compliance with health regulations; clear dishes, cutlery and glasses after diners leave; send dirty dishes to dishwasher; ensure linen and silverware storage areas are cleaned and organized; clean ice cream freezer; clean coffee, tea, juice machines; assist other servers with cleaning as requested; maintain various workstations in dining room and pantries.
Additional duties: May assist in the Café, handle monies, and close cash registry as needed.
