One of the top 10 Metrology labs in the country is seeking an experienced RF Calibration Technician to join a trusted, accredited, modern calibration laboratory with 45+ years of excellence supporting Aerospace, Medical, and other high‑precision industries.

This role is focused on the calibration of RF and microwave test equipment itself – the instruments used to test systems – not antennas, RF devices, or production hardware. Unlike many labs that outsource calibration, this team performs hands‑on, in‑house calibration of RF instruments using NIST‑traceable standards.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (Optional Overtime)

Pay: $45–$65 /hr DOE

About the RF Calibration Technician:

The RF Calibration Technician is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of RF and microwave measurement instruments used in critical applications. This is a laboratory‑based role working directly with bench‑top and rack‑mounted RF test equipment.

Calibration Disciplines & Equipment

Calibration of test instruments themselves – not devices under test

Electrical / Electromagnetics (AC/DC & Frequency):

Voltage up to ~70 kV, current up to ~6,000 A

AC/DC sources and meters

General Test Equipment:

Multimeters

Frequency counters/meters

LCR meters

Time & Frequency:

Clocks, timers, stopwatches

Frequency counters

Radio Frequency (RF & Microwave Test Equipment):

RF signal generators

Spectrum analyzers

RF power meters and sensors

Filters (frequency response calibration)

Network analyzers (S‑parameter calibration)

Vibration / Dynamics:

Accelerometers and vibration sensors

Frequency response calibration

Responsibilities of the RF Calibration Technician:

Calibrate RF, microwave, electrical, time & frequency, and vibration test instruments to NIST‑traceable standards

Generate accurate calibration reports and maintain detailed documentation

Inspect equipment, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with engineers

Support internal and external audits (ISO/IEC 17025)

Maintain laboratory safety and quality standards

Requirements of the RF Calibration Technician:

Hands‑on experience calibrating RF and microwave test equipment (bench instruments, not RF devices or antennas)

Background in RF, electrical, time & frequency, or vibration calibration

ISO/IEC 17025 knowledge preferred

Strong attention to detail, documentation, and problem‑solving skills

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel to client sites as needed

Valid driver’s license
