February 9th - 27th – Psych/Polygraph/Medical/Drug & Physical testing
March 6th – Final Offer of Employment
April 13th – Start Date
May 3rd – Basic Academy begins
DEPARTMENT Police Department
Summary Police Officers patrol assigned area to enforce laws and ordinances, respond to calls, enforce laws, make arrests, issue citations, regulate traffic, control crowds, prevent crimes, and occasionally testify in court cases. Officers may also be assigned to conduct investigations to prevent crimes or solve criminal cases, and be required to perform a variety of administrative and technical duties in support of the department.
Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. No experience is required. However, patrol experience is required for an assignment to detective.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be 21 years old at the time of graduation from the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center.
Maintain a valid Nebraska Driver's License.
Maintain certification from the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center. Successful candidate must obtain required certification within one (1) year from date of appointment.

Will be required to reside within sixty (60) minutes of the Hastings Police Station.
HOURS Non-Exempt (hourly) position. 80 hours every two weeks. Shift work and subject to on-call duty after hours during potential and actual emergency or disaster situations.
