Job Summary:

This position is responsible for providing food service to the residents of The IRIS Senior Living in a positive and friendly manner. Services may include – related services, set-up and clean-up of dining room, food preparation, serving food, and dishwashing.

Responsibilities:

Assist with food prep, portioning, and plating meals according to menu and standards.

Support safe food handling practices, including hygiene, temperature control, and food storage.

Set up dining room, serve meals, and ensure a clean, welcoming dining experience for residents.

Operate dishwasher and maintain cleanliness of dishware, kitchen tools, and dining areas.

Follow cleaning protocols and assist with waste disposal and recycling.

Communicate with residents and respond to dining requests with care and professionalism.

Support the mission and values of Cornerstone Management Communities.

Qualifications:

High School education/GED or previous work experience.

Experience in working with older adults.

Possess a sensitivity and aptitude for working with the elderly.

Prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently.

Possess skills to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff and other customers.

Possess the ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence and documentation, including medical terminology, in English.

Be punctual with a good attendance record.

Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills.

Understand how to use, carry and be responsible for the cell phone while on duty.
