Job Purpose The purpose of the Tractor Trailer Driver position is to transport, deliver and retrieve assorted construction and heavy equipment and to support the needs of the branch in a professional, safe and timely manner. The driver operates both commercial and non‑commercial vehicles safely and efficiently, upholding company, regional and regulatory standards.
What you will do
Transport, deliver and retrieve assorted construction and heavy equipment.
Operate commercial or non‑commercial vehicles safely, efficiently and professionally.
Promote professionalism and excellent customer service attitude.
Perform vehicle inspections before and after pickups and deliveries.
Ensure all delivery documents are properly maintained and available for inspection.
Apply driving skills in challenging conditions (speed, traffic, weather, terrain).
Secure construction equipment using chains, straps, and blocks in accordance with DOT policies.
Maintain open communication with Branch Manager and/or dispatch for delivery schedules.
Observe safety rules and regulations at customer job sites and other facilities.
Provide training assistance to customers on safe operations of vehicles, tools, or machinery.
Report damage or accidents to Branch Manager or Central Dispatch.
Report delays due to breakdowns, weather, traffic, etc.
Maintain flexibility to respond to Management’s requests.
Ensure proper paperwork and logs are maintained accurately daily.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of tractor‑trailer driving experience within the last three years.
Class A CDL with tanker endorsement.
Current medical card.
Hazmat endorsement within 120 days of employment (assistance provided).
Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
Skills
Operate large, heavy machinery.
Secure loads safely.
Customer service skills.
Pay Range $27–$32 per hour (subject to company discretion based on qualifications, experience, location and fit).
