Job Summary A line cook position at Mayahuel involves plating dishes and completing a range of food preparation tasks from basic to advanced. Responsibilities include preparing and cooking food at specific stations, maintaining cleanliness, ensuring the kitchen is well-stocked, mastering modern Mexican culinary recipes, and engaging with guests to enhance their dining experience.

Responsibilities

Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies.

Prepare food for service (chopping vegetables, butchering meat, preparing sauces).

Cook menu items in cooperation with other kitchen staff.

Answer, report, and follow instructions from the chef or sous chef.

Clean up station and manage leftover food.

Prepare a family meal once a week with team members.

Stock inventory appropriately and maintain records for own station.

Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion.

Comply with nutrition, sanitation regulations and safety standards.

Uphold a comprehensive approach to guest care; demonstrate proactive attitude toward guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

Capable of handling fine dining shifts efficiently and effectively.

Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.

Experienced and diverse palate.

Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.

Familiarity with industry’s best practices.

Certified in Food Safety.

Strong multi-tasking ability.

Able to stand for extended periods and lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
