Overall Scope And Responsibility
Assist guests upon arrival & departure in a courteous and professional manner.
Provide detailed information to guests regarding hotel services, hours of operation, local venues and area events.
Assist front office as assigned.
Retrieve guest items from cars, buses, vans and carts. Carry or load luggage, boxes and packages onto bell cart to transport to guestrooms or meeting rooms.
Escort guests to guestrooms, visually inspect the room and telephone for deficiencies (e.g. TV remote) and inform engineering immediately. Point out room features and directory for reference, familiarize guests with amenities.
Offer ice to each arriving guest upon delivery of luggage.
Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive and clear voice.
Provide directions to nearby attractions.
Initiate requests to taxi cab companies upon guest requests.
Place newspapers in bags and deliver them to guest rooms.
Run errands for guests off property (e.g. purchase or pick up of items).
Deliver faxes, packages, mail, etc. to guestrooms.
Maintain and post hotel notice boards and public area signage.
Clean and polish bell carts and other equipment used in the department.
Maintain a guest log sheet daily.
Answer bell desk phone and provide information as needed.
Read and match luggage tags, write claim tickets and detach portion to give to guest.
Ensure hotel entrance and lobby area are clean and presentable at all times.
Job Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Excellent interpersonal and problem resolution skills.
Excellent communication and organization skills.
Walking and standing for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
Minimum of one year of customer service experience.
Fluency in English (both verbal and non-verbal).
