Job Description Purpose and Scope Under general/limited supervision, the Part Time Specialist III, Student Life is responsible for significant functions in Marketing and Student Life programming. Has in-depth knowledge of functions and processes throughout the scope of the specialty area. This position acts a primary expert and provides advice and information to others. Ensures that all district policies/practices surrounding function are implemented/carried out correctly by others. Primarily performs specialized, specific functions requiring knowledge and experience in a particular field, area or department function. Typical duties may include information gathering and review, presentation of information in verbal or written form, some interpretation of information. This position is responsible for planning and executing Student Life events for evening students and students at the LSC Location, as well as publicity and marketing for Student Life events.

Essential Job Functions

Plans and coordinates events for evening students and students at the LSC Location

Maintains data and creates reports related to Registered Student Organizations and Student Life events

Designs publicity and marketing materials for Student Life and student organizations

Coordinates printing or ordering of publicity and marketing materials

Supervises student workers during evening hours

Assists with large-scale Student Life events, as needed

Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

Physical Abilities The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

Work Schedule and Conditions

Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment

Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position

Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED

Salary Hourly Pay Rate is $15.60
