Job Description
As a Cocktail Server, you will be responsible for serving the needs of the business, our guests, and our colleagues by taking food and beverage orders, retrieving and serving alcoholic/non‑alcoholic beverages and food orders to guests’ tables according to hotel specifications, courteously and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, prices, preparation method/time, ingredients and quality standards of taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size, garnish and method of presentation.
Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving.
Understand and anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, however busy and at whatever time of day.
Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
Handle guest complaints following procedures and ensuring guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
One year experience in the foodservice/hospitality industry (Bartender experience preferred).
Good knowledge of spirits, beer, and wine and experience at a luxury hospitality property (preferred).
Must be at least 18 years old.
Superior professional appearance and manner, good character to work in a fast‑paced team.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to department needs.
Ability to obtain relevant state and local government certifications, such as a food handlers certificate or alcohol training certifications, as applicable to the position.
Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, management, and co‑workers to their understanding.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Ability to maneuver in a restaurant setting.
