Pay: $16.50 - $30.00
Summary This position is located in the Food and Beverage Division of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department in the Navy Region Southwest.
Responsibilities
Setting the tables with cloths, silverware, glasses, condiments, napkins, and decorations.
Preparing back-up tables with such supplements as butter, ice, coffee, fruits, juices, salads, and breads.
Being familiar with the menu for the day, offering suggestions if requested, recording desired selections from guests and turning in the order for preparation to the kitchen.
Serving side dishes such as salads, fruit dishes, bread, wine or other beverages.
When meal is completed, clearing and cleaning table and the immediate area, and resetting the table in preparation for the next guests.
Performing other related duties as required.
Conditions of Employment
Must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
Must meet federal suitability requirements including successful completion of background investigation.
Must be able to handle objects that weigh up to 20 lbs.
Qualifications
Skill to serve beverages and meals in the proper manner and sequence.
Knowledge of proper food handling techniques such as the correct side to serve from and the correct side to remove from.
Knowledge of the composition of all food items on the menu, whether American or Foreign; the available beverages and wines and which wines complement specific meals and their proper serving temperatures.
Skill in proper table setting techniques. Knowledge of simple math calculations in order to tabulate checks.
Ability to recognize intoxicated patrons when serving alcohol.
