The Server is responsible for welcoming and sitting guests comfortably, serving food and/or beverages, and delivering outstanding guest service. Responsibilities include following a daily schedule, performing proper set‑up, maintenance, and break‑down of the restaurant, and providing excellent guest service and satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Greet all guests with eye contact and a warm welcome as they enter the dining area.
Maintain a proactive guest service approach at all times.
Assist with seating guests as needed (in the absence of the hostess).
Provide fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service to hotel & restaurant guests & staff.
Serve food and beverage in accordance with standards and in a professional courteous manner.
Maintain knowledge of all menu items and composition.
Adhere to all Brand Standards regarding Food and Beverage and Service.
Assist with the set up and cleanliness of the Restaurant.
Assist with clearing and set‑up of tables.
Assist with restocking of supplies as needed.
Communicate effectively with Management and other Team Members.
Use Point of Sale (POS) system as required.
Perform other duties assigned by supervisor/manager.
Perform special daily projects assigned by supervisor/manager.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be able to understand, read, write and speak English above a basic level, to effectively communicate with Team Members and Guests.
Must maintain a neat and professional appearance upholding Company appearance standards at all times.
Must be able to apply commonsense understanding, in carrying out instructions.
Must be able to comply in standardized situations with only occasional or no variation.
Must be available to work flexible shifts, including holidays.
Must be able to work without constant supervision.
Must be able to work well as a part of a team.
Must be engaging with all guests throughout meal periods; responding to guests and Team Members as required.
Physical Demands
Stand for long periods on hard surface; use arms, hands and legs repetitively; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Walk, balance, talk, hear and smell frequently.
Work with cleaning chemicals and warm temperatures and all food products.
Carry and balance up to 25 pounds without assistance regularly.
Use close vision, distance vision, color vision, and sense of smell effectively.
Operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
Qualification Standards
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Six months Customer Service, hotel or restaurant experience preferred but not required.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer/client focus.
Must obtain TIPS certification within 30 days (if not already certified).
