Penn State Schuylkill is hiring for an Athletic Trainer. The Athletic Trainer provides athletic training services to physically active individuals within the University in accordance with the Pennsylvania Practice Act, with the goal of optimizing athletic performance. Collaborate with team physicians to prevent, diagnose, and treat emergency, acute, and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations, and disabilities. Determine treatment and rehabilitation for athletic injuries/illnesses and assess athletes' readiness to participate, including pre‑participation and post‑injury/illness return-to-play evaluations. Supervise the organization, implementation, and review of comprehensive injury prevention and performance enhancement programs for intercollegiate athletic teams and club sports. Provide athletic training services for athletic events, including games, practices, and strength and conditioning sessions. Research current methods of treatment and oversee adherence to required certifications and continuing education for staff. Serve as an educational resource for sports medicine and athletic training for personnel internal to and affiliated with the University. Perform all aspects of health care administration, including maintaining medical records, scheduling appointments, and ensuring communication with health care professionals and athletic staff. Recognize and monitor mental health, nutrition, and other health issues student athletes may be experiencing and refer to appropriate professionals if necessary. Assist in the education and supervision of Graduate Student Athletic Trainers. Oversee and coordinate student athlete entrance and exit physicals. Contribute to the development of an environment for student-athletes that is healthy, safe, equitable, and inclusive. May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management. MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Intermediate Professional , this position requires a Bachelor’s Degree, 1+ year of relevant experience, and the following certifications: AED Certification, CPR Certification, Certified Athletic Trainer (NATA), and Licensed Athletic Trainer (Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine). BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

Positions require: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. A valid driver’s license is required. Penn State does not sponsor employment visas. SALARY & BENEFITS
