Westview Meadows is seeking Medication & Resident Services Assistants to provide care to residents living in our Residential Care Neighborhood. This would entail administering routine medications and treatments to residents in accordance with facility policy and procedures, federal and state regulations. The ideal candidate for this position will exemplify The Best Friends™ approach to dementia care by utilizing the essential elements of friendship (respect, empathy, support, trust, and humor) to care for residents and adapt to their remaining strengths and abilities.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living, including: toileting, bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility.

Administers medications and observes for additional care needs or changes in residents’ usual behavior, condition, or functional abilities.

Reports observations to the nurse in a timely manner.

Regularly performs a medication cart audit.

Document information pertaining to changes in residents’ functional status, personal needs, appointments, etc.

Practices patience, compassion, and empathy in all interactions with residents.

Focuses on residents’ abilities and provides social/emotional support and encourages the resident to be as independent as possible.

Respond to resident emergencies; provide first-aid assistance and arrange for appropriate medical attention under the instruction of the nurse.

Assist in care of Hospice Program.

Qualifications

Experience interacting with elderly.

Willingness to learn and complete on-the-job training and utilize The Best Friends™ approach to care.

A strong sense of compassion and a desire and commitment to teamwork and effective communication.

Experience with med-passes.

Preference given to LNA’s with experience, however, we are willing to train the right candidate.

Must pass appropriate background checks and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Pay : $20.00 – $25.00 per hour (depending on experience and shift)
