Summary Drives company vehicles for pickup and delivery of parts and/or new and repaired equipment to other store locations and/or customer locations in a safe and efficient manner with an eye towards exemplary customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plan & execute daily route for efficiency of pickup, deliver and transfers between stores or customers locations, parts, and/or new or repaired equipment and stock from warehouses.
Follows Company driving policy at all times.
Monitors vehicle performance and cleanliness and ensure general maintenance is performed and logged in vehicle maintenance logs.
Load and unload equipment and ensure loads are secure during transport.
Contacts all customer delivery or pickups prior to time of arrival.
Ensures all equipment delivered and transported is accurately identified and maintained.
Provides basic operating instructions to customers on delivered equipment and ensures customer understands all safety features of delivered equipment.
Reports any safety, vehicle damage or driving concerns or incidents to Store Manager.
Confirms all repaired equipment was completed satisfactorily when delivery to customers, and notifies Parts & Service Manager of any issues.
Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, co-workers, and management.
Driving Downtime Task List:
Assist Parts Department with cycle counts (see Mgr or Lead Parts for count sheet).
Ensure all service trucks and trailers are clean and ready for use:
No straps left in open truck beds
Trailer floors clean and clear for cargo
Perform weekly checks of towing equipment and notify your manager of any repairs needed.
Check service fuel cans and fill as needed.
Assist the Set-Up Department with cleaning machines or completing PDIs when needed.
Monitor scrap metal and coordinate recycling as needed.
Assist the Service Department with shop cleanliness:
Empty trash
Remove unwanted parts or debris from the shop

Work Environment The work environment is the delivery vehicle, customer locations, and warehouse locations working near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the environment will occasionally be loud. There could be fumes or airborne particles at times. Required to assist with loading and removing equipment from vehicles and in so doing be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
Work Schedule The position is full time requiring varying shifts Monday through Saturday to cover business operations. Occasional extended days and or weekend hours may be required. May be required to work 45+ hours a week during the Spring and Summer peak season. This position is non-exempt.
Qualifications Qualifications and Competencies
1+ year in a commercial driving position
MUST have solid tow/trailering experience
Possess and maintain Class 1 / Chauffeurs license with no restrictions
Maintenance of DOT medical certificate preferred
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Careful attention to detail; careful attention to numbers
Basic math skills are required
Good interpersonal skills
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms; occasionally climb or balance; stoop, crouch or kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Specific vision abilities required by this job include those required by DOT.
