Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Care Aide to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to residents in a care facility, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for helping others, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
Monitor residents’ physical and emotional well-being, promptly reporting any changes to nursing staff.
Help residents with mobility needs, including transferring and positioning in beds or chairs.
Serve meals to residents, assisting with feeding as necessary, and ensuring dietary preferences are respected.
Engage residents in social and recreational activities to promote mental and emotional health.
Maintain a clean and safe environment by following infection control protocols and housekeeping standards.
Document care provided and any observations in residents' records accurately and timely.
Support residents in their personal hobbies and interests to encourage a positive living experience.
Collaborate with nursing staff and other team members to ensure holistic care for residents.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred.
Prior experience in a caregiving role, preferably in a long-term care or assisted living facility.
Understanding of elder care, hygiene practices, and resident rights.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compassionate, patient, and reliable demeanor.
Availability to work the designated shift consistently.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move residents with appropriate techniques.
Capable of standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
Ability to perform tasks that require physical stamina, such as lifting and assisting residents.
