Join Morrison Living, a leader in hospitality and culinary excellence, to manage dining services operations at our Maplewood, NJ location. This full‑time, mid‑senior level position requires strong leadership, financial acumen, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Salary:
$65,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
Job Summary As a Dining Services Manager, you will oversee a team of food service professionals and manage overall service in the main dining room as well as special functions. You will assist with maintaining interdepartmental relations and integrating the dining service department with the facility plan of operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee dining services operations of a medium to large volume location.
Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly and service‑oriented manner.
Assist with profit and loss and budgeting for the account.
Work with the Chef and management team to create menus and provide top quality food.
Be primarily involved in meal services in a seated dining room setting, including quality improvement, sanitation, infection control and all facility‑related activities.
Help rollout new culinary programs with the marketing and culinary team.
Prepare quarterly reports for client presentation.
Collaborate with marketing and culinary departments to increase sales through innovation and food quality.
Communicate with the culinary department to ensure food programs reflect the company vision.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of food service management experience.
Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, or related operations.
Preferred: table service and catering experience.
Knowledge of food and catering trends focused on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills.
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet usage.
ServSafe certification is preferred.
Associate’s degree preferred.
