We’re seeking a
Weekend AM Anchor/Reporter
for KXRM‑TV FOX21, Colorado Springs. The role will serve as the primary presenter of news stories on Saturday & Sunday mornings and report in the field during weekdays.
Responsibilities
Produce content for multiple platforms, including TV, internet, and mobile.
Work with management to develop and pitch stories daily.
Deliver compelling storytelling using dynamic live shots, stand-ups, creative graphics, and digital/social media platforms.
Organize material, determine angle or emphasis, and write stories according to editorial style and format standards.
Gather and verify information through interviews, observation, and research.
Build a network of sources to keep the company ahead of competitors.
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Communication/Journalism or a related field (equivalent experience may substitute).
Three years of television anchoring or reporting experience.
Solid vocal delivery, camera presence, and clear enunciation.
Strong reporting, writing, and research skills.
Understanding of social media importance.
Excellent reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and organizational skills.
Promotes teamwork and maintains a cooperative attitude with station personnel.
Proficient with newsroom computer systems.
Compensation From $22.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and skill level. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) with company match.
